Northeast Province Overhauls Fireworks Production

Northeast China's Liaoning Province has taken efforts to overhaul fireworks production and to punish unqualified fireworks producers.

The provincial public security bureau and Bureau of Township Enterprises checked the 71 producers of firecrackers in the province and found that almost 30 percent of these producers were unqualified.

These unqualified producers were asked to improve their production in a given time period, otherwise their licenses will be nullified.

An official from the provincial public security bureau said that local police uncovered 85 cases on illegal production and marketing of fireworks in the past months.

Zhao Xinliang, deputy governor of Liaoning, noted that Liaoning will continue to control the production of firecrackers in the coming two months.
