Chinese Aplomb

China's coach, Bora Milutinovic, is forging ahead with preparations for the semifinals without any worries over meeting Japan. He is not giving the game against Japan more than its due, nor does he have any surprises in store. But at the same time he cannot promise to bring home the Cup or reveal the line-up that will face off Japan. As for his opinion about top-scorer Japanese Naohiro Takahara, Milutinovic's only comment was: Who is he? I don't know him.

China's goalkeeper, Jiang Jin, also does not fear Japan. Jin believes the Chinese defense is as solid as Japan's strikers. Personally, Jin was instructed to be wary of Japan's Nanami, Nakamura and Inamoto.

Midfielder Su Maozhen, said reaching the semi-finals is an achievement in itself, but nabbing the Cup is the ultimate goal. But so far, China has nothing to be ashamed about because their performance has been praiseworthy. Defense player Li Wiefeng said the task that lays ahead is not easy but they will as well beat Japan, which has failed to rout the Chinese in the last two years. Although the Japanese are currently the favorites, the Chinese will prove their might on the field.
