Condolences to Taiwan Air Crash Victims: Official

Zhang Mingqing, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, extended his condolences and sympathy Wednesday morning to the victims of a Singapore Airlines Boeing 747 crash, which occurred at 11:18 pm on Tuesday.

According to the latest reports, at least 70 people died when the jet crashed in typhoon winds and burst into flames on takeoff at Taipei airport. 159 passengers and 20 crew were on board when the plane crashed.
