Shanghai International Arts Festival Ready

The Second Shanghai International Festival of Arts is ready with preparations for the festival ended, the organizing committee of the festival announced Wednesday.

Art troupes from over 20 countries and regions in the world and ten provinces in China will present 54 performances in the following month.

Yin Yicui, secretary general of the festival and vice secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Government said that the festival will follow the principles of internationalism, classic, and nationalism.

Compared with the First Shanghai International Arts Festival held last year, the large-scale activities at the festival make it more vivid.

During the festival, the organizing committee of the festival has arranged seven exhibitions including Shanghai Exhibition, the Second China State-Level Art Crafts Exhibition, and Shanghai Art Exposition.

Three fireworks exhibitions will added color to the art festival, and are expected to attract over 60,000 visitors.

The festival is expected sell over 300,000 tickets, an increase of 30 percent over the last one. All 45,000 tickets of the Aida debut are already booked, according to the organizing committee of the festival.

More than 1,600 guests and artists from 39 countries and regions, and 36 heads of 26 art troupes will attend series of performances at the art festival.
