CPPCC Chairman Meets Current, Former Leaders of CGCC

Li Ruihuan£¬chairman of the National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with the current and former heads of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) during his five-day visit to the territory.

During the meeting, the CPPCC chairman thanked these top business leaders in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) for their warm reception during his trip.

Chinese President Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for CGCC marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the organization.

Referring to President Jiang's inscription, Li called it an expression of hope for the business leaders as well as the local industries and commerce as a whole.

Jiang's inscription reads: "Carry forward the Fine Tradition of Loving the Motherland and Hong Kong, Safeguard Hong Kong's Long-term Prosperity and Stability".

Li urged them to further understand the essence of Jiang's words and make new contributions to consolidating and developing the prosperity and stability in Hong Kong.

On behalf of himself and his predecessors, Chan yau-hing, the current CGCC chairman, extended cordial thanks to the central leadership for its care and support to the business community.
