Baoshan Steel Complex Education Award IssuedA ceremony was held on December 1 for the issuance of Baoshan Steel Complex Education Award, the largest annual educational award sponsored by a large enterprise in China.This year's outstanding student award went to 797 university students, while 15 university teachers and another 250 university teachers were granted the special-grade outstanding teacher award and outstanding teacher award, respectively. The Baoshan Steel Complex Education Award was set up 10 years ago by the 35 million yuan Baoshan Steel Complex Education Fund, of the Shanghai-based Baoshan Steel Complex. Every year around 3 million yuan is issued to award-winners. So far, over 7,600 teachers and students from 50 institutions of higher education have received the award. Currently, there are plans to increase the total fund amount and further standardize its operation, in a bid to turn it into a well-known education fund in 10 years. In addition to these awards, the fund has also set up the "Award for the Country's 10 Best Elementary School and High School Teachers." |
