Yao Ming Leads Shanghai to Fifth Win
Yao Ming stamped his domination of the league with another amazing night with 38 points and 13 rebounds on Sunday, December 3, to lead the Shanghai Sharks to a 109-93 victory over the Shenyang Army in the Chinese Basketball Association.

The 20-year-old pivot chipped in all 11 shots in the field and made 16-19 on free-throw in less than a half hour.

The Sharks, the only unbeaten team in the league, extended their winning streak to fifth, including the season-opening big win over the defending champions Bayi Rockets on November 18.

Yao, who was named the Most Valuable Player for the first two weeks, played just over two quarters to prove his strength as the first center of China.

Six players of the Sharks scored in double digits, while Jia Nan and Sun Ming got 27 and 25 points respectively for the Shenyang Army, who was the only winless team in the league.

The Jilin Northeast Tigers kept home winning streak to third and jumped onto the second place of the league with a 102-97 victory over the Guangdong Hongyuan in Changchun, Jilin Province.

In Nanjing, Jiangsu Dragons delivered the visiting Liaoning Hunters the worst loss of the season as the home team won 100-68.

The Bayi Rockets fielded in the sick Wang Zhizhi in the third quarter to beat the Beijing Ducks 119-96 at home court Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.

In Sunday's other games, the Zhejiang Cyclone stumbled at home with a 95-94 loss to the Jinan Army, while the Vanguard Aoshen kept home court run to three wins with a 121-107 crash of the Shandong Flaming Bulls in Beijing.
