China, Russia Ink Memo on Materials Science Cooperation

Chinese and Russian science academies signed a memorandum on strengthening cooperation in materials science Wednesday, December 6.

According to the memorandum, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Sciences will exchange experts and experience, and conduct cooperative research on projects of common interest in materials science.

The two academies will coordinate their research in nanometer technology and make common efforts to bring the research results into application.

Under the memorandum, leaders of the two academies will hold regular meetings to push forward bilateral cooperation.

The document was signed Wednesday by Bai Chunli, deputy president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and his Russian counterpart, Oleg Nefedov. Bai is accompanying Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing on an official visit to Russia.
