Singapore Forces Test Capability to Deal with Security Threats

The Singapore Armed Force, the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defense Force have undertaken a joint exercise to test their capability to deal with security threats, according to a joint press release from the Singapore Ministries of Defense and Home Affairs Thursday, December 7.

The press release said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Tony Tan and Minister for Home Affairs Wong Kan Seng Thursday visited the joint exercise to deal with a diverse range of threats.

Without giving details about the time duration and venue of the exercise, the press release said the joint exercise is one of a series aimed at fine-tuning the procedures for a multi-layered defense against security threats and in this joint exercise, the forces were tested on their capability to deal with scenarios involving intrusion by sea, public disorder and terrorism.
