The first Shanghai International Websites Promotion Exhibition, jointly sponsored by Information Office of Shanghai Municipal Government and Shanghai Informationalization Office was held in Shanghai Exhibition Center Friday morning.

PeopleOnline (www.people.com.cn), pioneering in China's Internet and representing China's fourth media, made its debut at the exhibition.

PeopleOnline made its appearance at the 16th World Computer Congress held in August, 2000, which has received great concerns from all circles and also signals that it has stepped onto a higher development stage.

This exhibition in Shanghai has shown to people that PeopleOnline is enhancing its market promotion in East China. In the coming new century, PeopleOnline will redouble its efforts to better serve the masses of Internet users.
