Macao SAR Chief Executive Leaves for Beijing
Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), left Hong Kong Sunday noon for Beijing to report his work.
It is the first time for the chief executive to report his work to the central government since the founding of the Macao SAR on December 20 last year.
In Beijing, the chief executive will talk about the implementation of "one country, two systems" in Macao in accordance with the Macao Basic Law, as well as the government work over the past year.
Edmund Ho is expected to return to Macao on December 19 in company with Chinese President Jiang Zemin, who will come to attend the SAR's first-anniversary celebrations.
