Chinese Software Park Open to Overseas Investors

An emerging software industrial park in east China has been designated as a State software center and has opened to overseas investors.

The Hefei Software Industrial Park, covering 66.7 hectares in the Hefei High-Tech Development Zone in Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, is designed to lead the province's information technology industry.

A provincial government official said that annual domestic sales of the park are to reach 1 billion Yuan in the years to come.

The park will also have a share in the international market, the official said.

Established in 1999, the industrial park has attracted more than 70 high-tech enterprises, which are expected to generate a combined revenue of 267 million yuan this year.

The province is set to spend 320 million yuan on the infrastructure of the park over the next few years.
