Pakistani Local Bodies Elections End

Pakistan's polling for local bodies in 18 districts of the country concluded at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

"The votes were cast in an overall peaceful and orderly manner, and so far no report of any major untoward incident has been reported," the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) quoted Election Commission of Pakistan sources as saying later Sunday.

However, reports of minor law and order incidents had come from some places.

Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Justice Abdul Qadeer Chaudhry visited five polling stations and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made and on the smooth and orderly conduct of elections.

The voter turnout at all the 18 districts was reported to be fairly brisk, APP reported.
