Li Nan's 59-point Play Extends Bayi's Winning Streak

Guard Li Nan cracked down the Vanguard Aoshen one-handedly with 59 points Wednesday, January 3, for a 147-117 victory for the Bayi Rockets in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league.

The Rockets, who snapped the league's leaders Shanghai Sharks' 13-game winning streak Sunday, extended their winning row to the seventh game to secure the second place on the standings (10-3). While the Sharks (12-1) went back to their home court in Shanghai to overcome the Guangdong Hongyuan, 120-109.

Third-placed Beijing Ducks followed the step of the leading teams with a 97-80 victory over the winless Shenyang Army, who had lost 13 games since the start of the season in November.

In a match between two Shandong teams, the Shandong Flaming Bulls had the better of the game to win 96-83 over the Jinan Army.

The struggling Liaoning Hunters defeated the Jilin Northeast Tigers 112-92 for their sixth victory of the season, while the Zhejiang Cyclones surprised the Jiangsu Dragons 109-98.

Li Nan drilled in 12 three-pointers in his 17 attempts and was 9-9 behind the line. He also added nine rebounds and two blocks in his best performances in the league.

"This is my best game since I joined the league," Li Nan said. "The balls just all get in."
