S. Africa Calls for Peace After New Coup in Cote d'Ivoire

The South African government Monday called for peaceful means to resolve the problems in Cote d'Ivoire after a new coup took place late Sunday in the West African country.

The South African government was concerned about the latest development in the country and would continue to monitor developments there with keen interest, said a Foreign Ministry statement.

South Africa reiterates position of the Organization of African Unity, which calls for "an inclusive and participatory process among all political players" in the country, the statement said.
