First Landing Bridge on the Sea to Be Completed The railway bridge for crossing the Qiongzhou Strait, Hai'an, China's first one across the sea will be completed at the beginning of 2001. The Guangdong-Hainan Railway is one of the key projects of railroad construction in the Ninth Five-year Plan period. The whole project consists of three sections, the stretch between Zhanjiang-Han'an, Qiongzhou Strait ferry, and the section in Hainan province. The bridge, stretching 96.15 meters long and 14 meters wide, is the extending part of Zhanjiang-Han'an railway on the sea.
