China Tourism Trade Fair to Be Held in Sichuan

The China 2001 Tourism Trade Fair will be held in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province from June 21 to 24 this year, it is announced in Chengdu Friday, January 12.

More than 40 delegations from all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, as well as Hong Kong and Macao, will attend the fair, jointly sponsored by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and the Sichuan provincial government.

As host, Sichuan will present its rich tourism resources and unique cultural and local features.

Other activities such as "China tourism forum," "Minority horsemanship in western China," "Chengdu Gourmet Festival" will also be held during the fair.

According to CNTA experts, the fair is expected to attract more than 50,000 people.

The theme of the fair is "new century, new opportunity, new development, new image and new impression," according to the organizing committee.
