President Jiang Greets Senior Military Officers on Lunar New Year
Chinese President Jiang Zemin extended his greetings to all retired senior military officers in China as he attended a Spring Festival art performance for retired officers from the Beijing garrison Monday.
Jiang, also chairman of the Central Military Commission, wishes them a happy Lunar New Year and good health and longevity.
Before the performance, he met with the retired officers who once held leading positions in the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the government.
More than 1,000 people attended the performance, including vice-chairmen of the Central Military Commission Zhang Wannian and Chi Haotian.
