New Progressive Scanning Products Available in China

Color TV makers are vying to manufacture new progressive scanning products in China. So far, Changhong and Konka, China's two leading TV makers, have put out their Jingxian and Rouxing, respectively; Shinco and Amoisonic Electronics companies also have made their PDVDs available.

According to insiders, this is the first time China's color TV makers lead domestic color TV and videodisc player markets which have been monopolized by foreign products for as many as twenty years. Super flat screen, pure flat screen, plasma, liquid crystal TV sets were brought up one by one in markets, but China's TV makers were always half-beat slower than their foreign counterparts. A large sum of value added profit was therefore grabbed away by foreign manufacturers. When foreign pure plat screen color TV sets made debut in China one year ago, their price exceeded 10,000 yuan apiece; after China's manufacturers caught up with the trend, they reduced the price to 6,000 yuan. After experiencing fierce price war, China's color TV industry has become more matured. Many domestic TV manufactures begin to turn their attention to technology innovation, they finally relish the sweet from competing in developing progressive scanning products on their own.

Some sources say that progressive scanning household appliance products made by Chinese makers may rule out the possibility for same foreign products to grab China's market thanks to advanced technology used, high product quality and a reasonable price set.
