Theme Park on Camellia Breaks Ground in Zhejiang
A theme park on camellia broke ground recently in Jinhua, the hometown for camellia in China, in coastal Zhejiang province.
The park, covering 36 hectares, is built to mark the international camellia conference to be held here in 2003.
Jinhua, well known for its cultivation of camellia, is the headquarters of the China zone of International Camellia Association.
Boasting a total cultivation area of 540 hectares and over 400 major species, Jinhua reports an annual camellia sales volume of 200 million yuan. It is now China's largest camellia cultivation base.
