Some 110,000 Overseas Students Returned Home for Careers

The recent two years have seen the start-ups for career by the returned Chinese postgraduates from overseas come to a total of those set up in the past ten-odd years. And so far a total of 110,000 Chinese postgraduates who ever studied abroad have returned home to start up their careers or work in China.

According to Guangming Daily, China has sent in succession more than 400,000 visiting scholars, students plus some going abroad for study at their own expenses since the reform and opening up in 1978. Up to now, 110,000 of them have returned to work or set up their own enterprises. Their great successes achieved at homeland also helped in turn to bring more Chinese students from abroad to come back for careers.

Some related departments are making efforts to attract more Chinese students from overseas to come back. Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Suzhou, Xi'an and some other high-tech industry development zones have set up pioneering parks and provided them with favorable conditions and good services.

Some sources say that the upsurge for returned students from overseas to start up careers would be heated up early this century.
