Policeman Arrested on Charges of Bank Robbery

Police captured the last suspect in a bank robbery case that occurred on July 9 in Beihai, a coastal city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The suspect, named Wu Yugang, used to be a police officer of the Beihai City Public Security Bureau. He was arrested recently in Shijiazhuang, the capital of north China's Hebei Province.

On the noon of July 9, 2000, three robbers with guns stormed into the Beihai Branch of Industrial and Commerce Bank of China, and robbed 120,000 yuan in cash. On the way of fleeing, one suspect was seized by a citizen. Police arrested another.

After committing the crime, Wu Yugang fled to Yichang in central China's Hebei Province, and was involved in another bank robbery case.

Before being caught, he had worked hard with a restaurant. He spared his time to give lessons to the child of a nearby floral store. His boss was astonished at his arrest.
