Nigeria Urges China to Invest in Gas Industry

Nigeria's Minister of Commerce Alhaji Mustafa Bello Tuesday called in the capital Abuja on Chinese companies to invest in the gas industry of the country.

While receiving a visiting trade delegation from China's northern Hebei Province, Bello said Nigeria has rich gas deposits that the Chinese business sector could tap together with its Nigerian counterparts.

The Nigerian government has done a lot to improve the investment environment since the civilian government led by President Olusegun Obasanjo came into power in May 1999.

The Chinese province-level trade delegation, headed by Vice Governor of Hebei Province, Guo Shichang, is currently visiting the west African country to explore trade and investment opportunities.
