Bush Says US Will Act Against Iraq if Needed

President George W. Bush said on Friday the United States was ready to take appropriate action necessary to stop Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein from developing weapons of mass destruction and threatening neighboring countries in the Middle East.

"He has got to understand that we're going to watch him carefully. And if we catch him developing weapons of mass destruction, we'll take the appropriate action," Bush told reporters during a press conference with visiting British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

"And if catch him threatening his neighbors, we will take the appropriate action," Bush added.
