Beijing People Back Ban on Playing Away From Home
Almost 80 percent of Beijingers support laws that would punish people engaging in extramarital love affairs, a recent survey has found.
China Daily cited the survey result concluded by the Beijing-based Mainland Marketing Research Company as saying that most of the surveyed respondents felt laws should clearly define the legal rights of spouses involved in property wrangles and domestic violence issues.
"Men and women do have different opinions about this," said Zhou Jiang, general manager of the company. "More men than women are reluctant to subject the issue to the law."
Nearly 24 percent of men fell in the category that disagreed with the move, compared with only 8 percent among women, according to the survey.
It also found that more than 70 percent of the respondents said the new law should clearly define legal right to family property.
This demand was even more acute among better-educated survey respondents.
