China Publishes Books on General Revolution Research

China published Tuesday a series of books on general evolution research, which aims to depict an overall scientific picture of biological and social evolution.

The Social Sciences Documentation Publishing House produced the series of five books, which are: Third Millennium: Challenges and Vision, the Consciousness Revolution, the Multi-cultural Planet, the Whispering Pond, and the Insight Edge, which were formerly published in English.

Ervin Laszlo, co-author of the books, created a general evolution research group in 1986, garnering dozens of international social scientists for specific research in the field.

According to their theory, the general evolution consists of universal, biological, social, cultural and recognizant evolution.

Since the 1970s, global social scientists have noticed that the economic enhancement resulted in three major side effects, such as the increasing population, shortage of resources and pollution.

Min Jiayin, who masterminded the translation of the books to Chinese, said the research will help push forward the global consciousness of the people.

"Global people need a scientific map for future development," Min, also a research professor with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Philosophy Institute, said. "The general evolution is such kind of map."

The Social Sciences Documentation Publishing House, which is affiliated with CASS, always publishes outstanding books from academic circles in the country's top think tank.
