Major Suspect Behind Shijiazhuang Bombing Captured

Jin Ruchao, the major suspect behind last week's deadly bomb blasts in an urban residential district in Shijiazhuang, was captured by Chinese police in the early hours Friday, sources said.
The skinny Jin was caught by police in southern Chinese city of Beihai, which borders Vietnam, local police said. Right now, police are carrying out emergency investigation of the accused felon.
Public Security Minister Jia Chunwang issued an emergency notice for an intensive nationwide hunt for Jin, the fugitive suspected of carrying out the attacks in Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei Province, which killed at least 108 people.
To find Jin, police throughout China are checking all transit points between provinces, stopping vehicles on major roads, raiding hotels at night and inspecting rental houses.
Warrants for the arrest of Jin, a skinny guy in his 40s, have been posted in public places and the police ministry dangled a reward of 100,000 yuan (US$12,000) for tips leading to his capture.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Chinese police are combing railways and bus stations and hotels for the 41-year-old fugitive, a convicted rapist who is also wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend earlier this month.
Jin is the only suspect identified by police so far, but reports say police are looking for up to eight suspects. Two residents of a village just outside Shijiazhuang were arrested this week on suspicion of having sold Jin explosives.
