Lien Chan Reelected KMT Chairman

Lien Chan was reelected chairman of Kuomintang, Taiwan's opposition party, Saturday, according to reports reaching here from Taipei.

The party has 928,000 eligible voters and the turnout rate was 57.9 percent. Lien, the sole candidate in the race, garnered 97.09 percent of the votes.

He said that the priority task of the party will be continuing the party's reform, strengthening the party's unity and making a comeback to rebuild Taiwan.
