CDF Meeting Ends in Beijing

The annual meeting of the China Development Forum on "The Role of Government in a Rapidly Globalizing Economy" closed Monday afternoon.

Over 100 participants attended the two-day meeting including officials from relevant departments of the State Council, China's cabinet, leaders of large domestic companies and some transnationals, representatives from international and non-governmental organizations, and Chinese and overseas scholars.

During the meeting, which was sponsored by the Development Research Center of the State Council, participants discussed issues covering finance, economic restructuring, reform and re-organization of monopoly industries, environmental protection and ecological improvement.

In a speech delivered at the closing ceremony, the center's director Wang Mengkui expressed his appreciation for opinions and proposals offered by participants.
