Chinese Defense Minister Meets Qatar Prime Minister

Chinese Defense Minister Chi Haotian met here Tuesday with visiting Prime Minister Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al-Thani of the State of Qatar.

Chi, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor, said that Sino-Qatar relations have developed continuously since the two countries forged diplomatic ties in 1988, and the two armed forces have maintained contacts.

He voiced his belief that Abdullah's visit would push forward the friendly relations between China and Qatar.

Abdullah expressed the hope that Qatar armed forces are ready to conduct cooperation with Chinese counterpart, and he vowed to make all efforts to improve the friendly relations between Qatar and China.
