Bangladesh Hopes US to Take Positive Act in Handling Sino-American Relationship

Bangladesh hoped the US government could take positive act when handling Sino-American relationship, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Abu Hasan Chowdhury told Xinhua Wednesday.

Commenting on the plane collision incident in the coastal area near China's Hainan Province on April 1, the state minister said Bangladesh "shows much sympathy toward China" on the incident which caused a Chinese fighter jet crashed and a pilot missing.

He hoped the US government could "understand the Chinese government's fundamental position on this issue."

As the sole superpower in the world, the United States "should act cautiously" while handling international relationship, Chowdhury noted.

The Bangladeshi government is watching closely the latest development of the incident, he said, urging the United States and China to keep most restrained and solve the incident peacefully.

Chowdhury also expressed the hope that the incident won't affect adversely the entry of China into the World Trade Organization.
