East China Province to Build 1,500 Km of Roads
Shandong Province in east China plans to invest 8.5 billion yuan (1.02 billion US dollars) this year to build 1,500 kilometers of roads, including 116 kilometers of expressway, according to the provincial communications department.
All these projects will add the length of expressway in Shandong to 2,122 kilometers by the end of this year, officials said.
The total length of roads in the province reached 72,100 kilometers by last year.
The province will also invest huge amounts of money to enhance management and maintenance of the roads, according to the officials.
