China's Online Shopping to Amount to US$ 190 Million

According to a forecast made in a report issued by the Fifth China International E-commerce Summit, the B2C online shopping market will grow rapidly this year, with the market scale to amount to US$ 190 million. By 2004, the transaction amount of the market will increase to US$ 3.2 billion.

The total transaction amount of online shopping in China was US$ 62.9 million in 2000, up 250 percent from 1999.

The report analyzed that the inexpensive products and easy search are the main reasons for netizens to do online shopping.
