Israeli, Palestinian Security Chiefs to Meet for Resuming Cooperation

Israeli and Palestinians security chiefs will meet again on Monday to discuss ways of ending violence, Israel Radio reported on Sunday.

This will be their third security coordination talks in two weeks. The location for the meeting was not revealed.

Israeli and Palestinian security officials met last Wednesday in Herzliya in central Israel for a second time amid Palestinian mortar attacks against Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip and Israeli army's harsh reprisal raids with tanks and helicopter gunships.

Israeli officials said that there has been a clear reduction of Palestinian mortar attacks in recent days.

Israel and the Palestinians resumed security coordination efforts 11 days ago. But the positive climate emerging after the first meeting was poisoned by Israeli soldiers' shooting at the convoy carrying Palestinian security chiefs who were returning from the meeting to the Gaza Strip.
