Iraqis Killed in US Air Raids on South Iraq

U.S. and British warplanes on Saturday launched air strikes against Najav city, 170 kilometers southwest Iraqi capital Baghdad, killing several Iraqi civilians, Iraqi sources told Xinhua.

No details were available. But the sources, who asked to remain anonymous, said that Iraqi defense forces spokesman will comment on the air strikes in a military statement to be issued later on.

Iraq's Ministry of Information will arrange a tour for foreign correspondents to Najav city Sunday morning to "see the new U.S. crime against the Iraqi people."
