Chinese Foreign Minister Meets his Italian Counterpart

Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan met Wednesday with his Italian counterpart Lamberto Dini, who is in Beijing to attend the third ASEM foreign ministers ' meeting.

The two sides exchanged views on international issues of common concern.

Tang said that China and Italy have maintained frequent exchanges of visits in recent years, and the trade relations between the two countries have developed rapidly.

Bilateral cooperation in all fields has made progress continuously, and China is satisfied with it, Tang added.

He noted that China is ready to work with Italy to push forward the relations between the two countries.

Dini agreed with Tang's view on Italian-Chinese ties, and said that Italy has attached importance to developing relations with China, and is ready to strengthen bilateral cooperation of mutual benefit.
