Quake Rocks Kermadec Islands, New Zealand

An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale hit the Kermadec Islands of New Zealand Sunday morning.

The quake happened at 10:42 Beijing time, according to the China Seismological Bureau.

The epicenter was located at 27.3 degrees south latitude and 179.7 degrees west longitude.
