Explosion-proof Material Research Chalks New Success

A news conference was held in Beijing June 2 in unveiling new research success made in developing explosion-proof material by a Chinese company along with other units in Shantou, Guangdong Province, at a level comparing well to other world advanced in filling in a national gap in China. Photo shows the research unit introducing theories of the new material used on proofing explosion and fire.

Xibaipo Railway Station Put into Service

June 1 saw the Xibaipo Railway Station formally put into service in Pingshan County, Hebei Province. A part of the Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway, apart from helping in a boost of local economy and ending for good coal shortages in the Taihang Mountain area around Pingshan County, it will meet demands for abundant material supply of mineral products to other areas in China.

Beijing Police Museum Opens

The museum, with a floor space of 2,000 sq m, has displayed over 7,000 items relating to the police force, some of which are on show to the public for the first time.
