China's Entry and Exit Inspections Play Big Role
China has stopped US$436 million worth of entry and exit goods in the first half of this year, the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine announced on Friday.
According to the administration, during the period a total of US$111 billion worthy of entry and exit goods were inspected and quarantined, among which 56.8 billion were exit goods.
Among those unqualified entry goods, most problems were found in such goods as timber, paper pulp, iron mine products, crude oil, fertilizers, leather, automobiles and steel.
Those exit goods found with the most problems were aquatic products, grain, cans, coal and crude oil.
According to the administration, in the first half of this year it found 4,673 infectious disease cases, and all of them have been well dealt with in accordance with related laws.
During the first half of this year, the administration also refused entry to some unfit potatoes, decided to provisionally stop imports of Spanish olive oil products and at the same time, enhanced the inspection and quarantine of such exit goods as soy sauce products and teas.
