New National Emblem Hung Up on Great Hall of People

The one-ton new metal national emblem, with steel structure, copperplate cover, golden surface, and red paint, was hung up on the Great Hall of People on August 3. The new one, 6.3 meters in diameter, is installed to replace the old two-ton wooden national emblem hung up on the east gate of the Great Hall of the People since 1959.
