Facts and Figures: China's Imports from Chile

Following are the facts and figures about China's major import commodities from Chile from January to June, 2001, released by the General Administration of Customs:

Overall imports: 506.235 million US dollars, down 20.3 percent from same period last year.

Base metal and products: 229.198 million US dollars.

Mineral products: 138.208 million US dollars.

Pulp and paper products: 75.041 million US dollars.

Chemical products: 17.502 million US dollars.

Food, beverages and cigarettes: 16.406 million US dollars.
