Facts and Figures: China's Imports from US

Following are the facts and figures about China's major import commodities from the United States in the first six months of 2001, released by the General Administration of Customs:

Overall imports: 12.513 billion US dollars, up 17.9 percent from same last year period.

Machinery, audio and video products and accessories: 5.274 billion US dollars.

Optical, medical instruments and meters: 1.151 billion US dollars.

Chemical products: 1.138 billion US dollars.

Plant products: 1.025 billion US dollars.

Pulp, paper products and cardboard: 560.644 million US dollars.

Plastics and rubber products: 643.321 million US dollars.
