Facts and Figures: China's Imports from Canada

Following are the facts and figures about China's major import commodities from Canada in the first six months of 2001, released by the General Administration of Customs:

Overall imports: 1.938 billion US dollars, up 1.5 percent from same last year period.

Machinery, audio and video products, accessories: 520.653 million US dollars.

Plant products: 346.550 million US dollars.

Pulp, paper products and cardboard: 269.016 million US dollars.

Chemical products: 194.738 million US dollars.

Mineral products: 87.553 million US dollars.

Plastics, rubber products: 66.623 million US dollars.

Base metal and products: 64.122 million US dollars.
