Pole Vault Star Heads Israeli Delegation to Universiade

Israeli pole vault star Alex Averbukh, who just won a silver medal in the World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, Canada, will head the Israeli delegation to take part in the World University Games in Beijing next week.

Officials in Israel's Science, Culture and Sport Ministry said Wednesday that in total, 12 Israeli athletes will attend the World University Games, including five athletes, one swimmer, four judokas and two fencers.

Among them, Averbukh would be Israel's hope to win a medal in the World University Games.
