Kabila in Maputo for Talks with Mozambican President

Joseph Kabila, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), arrived in Maputo Friday evening for a one-day visit to Mozambique.

At his arrival at Maputo international airport, Kabila, who just concluded his visit to Malawi, was received by his Mozambican Joaquim Chissano and other top government officials.

Chissano and Kabila will discuss how to improve the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and how to speed up the implementation of the Lusaka ceasefire accord, which was signed in 1999 by all the warring partied involved in the DRC conflict.
