Henan Adopts On-line College Enrollment

Universities and colleges in central China's Henan Province have adopted the method of enrolling students via the Internet.

Cui Muyue, Vice-President of Zhengzhou University said that only 60 staff are participating in the on-line enrollment work this year, compared with the 400 staff involved in enrollment work last year.

From this year, college enrollment work in the province will no longer utilize paper-related documents.

To ensure the smooth operation of the enrollment work, Henan has spent 5.7 million yuan (about 686,700 US dollars to perfect the on-line enrollment system, which adopted software issued by the Ministry of Education.

Officials in charge of the enrollment work told Xinhua that on- line enrollment has improved efficiency and ensured the fairness of the enrollment work.
