China to Host International Radio, TV and Film Equipment Exhibition

The 10th Beijing International Radio, TV and Film Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV) will be held in Beijing Exhibition Center August 23-26.

Jointly sponsored by China Central Television and China Radio and Television Corporation For International Techno-Economic Cooperation (CRTV), the exhibition is the most prestigious of its kind in China.

According to Jin Ying, Vice Secretary-General with the exhibition's organizing committee, the BIRTV has been one of the first choices for radio and TV equipment producers worldwide to show off their latest high-tech developments and products.

Altogether 270 companies, including Sony, Panasonic, Adobe Snell and Wilcox Ltd., will participate in the four-day event.

With a total area of 25,000 square meters, the exhibition will focus on digital TV, high-definition TV, network of radio and TV programs, virtual studio, inter-TV and broad-band network.

"Beijing's successful bid to host the 2008 Olympics has given more significance to BIRTV", Jin said, "Only with high-quality TV equipment can we successfully broadcast the Games to the world, and BIRTV provides Beijing with more choices and better understanding of world-advanced equipment.

During the exhibition, government officials, scholars, experts and entrepreneurs from home and abroad will give lectures dealing with long-term strategic development planning on radio and TV industries in China.

At the same time, radio and TV producers will deliver more than 40 lectures about the latest technological developments in the field.
