1st Private Company Recognized As E-business Certification Authority in HK

Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited (Digi-Sign), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tradelink, was launched Wednesday as the first private company in Hong Kong granted recognition as a recognized certification authority under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance.

The company will tap electronic application business, aiming at prospective customers and partners in the industries of banking, finance, insurance and logistics, etc.

Branded ID-Cert, the digital certificates offered by Digi-Sign will be provided free to the 53,000-plus Tradelink members. Non- Tradelink customers will be charged at an affordable level.

Tradelink is a joint venture of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the private sector. Its mission is to promote the use and development of electronic commerce services in Hong Kong.
