China Qualifies for Men's Volleyball World Championship

China downed Australia 3-0 Thursday in Macao to qualify for the 2002 men's volleyball world championship.

The set scores were 25-18, 25-20 and 25-18 in favor of the Chinese team.

Chinese head coach Di Anhe said his team played the best match since reshuffled two months ago. "Today we played very well. It proved that our 20-day training were quite effective." Di Anhe said.

Earlier in the qualifying tournament, China beat Thailand and Saudi Arabia respectively.
