Guiyang Hosts Int'l Cambrian System Seminar

Over 40 internationally renowned earth science experts and scholars are attending the 7th International Cambrian System Seminar which opened Monday in this capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province.

The seminar, sponsored by the Nanjing Geo-Paleontology Institute under the China Academy of Sciences, is aimed at designating an international standard section of the Cambrian system, in which fossils of living creatures, such as trilobites, some 500 million years old have been found.

Experts have found many obviously Cambrian system deposits in Guizhou.
